AKOi Heart, IoT AKOi Heart is a product that attaches to the diapers of socially vulnerable groups such as babies, the elderly, people with disabilities, and patients, and notifies the caregiver’s smartphone app in real time when urine is detected. It helps prevent skin rash and infection by alerting you to prompt detection of urine. AKOi Hub connects with AKOi Heart via 2.4G and 5GHz WiFi communication, and it provides information on the surrounding temperature and humidity through AWS (Amazon Web Services). If the surrounding environment changes and goes outside the set range, the smartphone app will immediately notify you with an alert. Additionally, the IoT AKOi Call Device and the DEAF AKOi Call Device are devices that notify the guardian of call information in real time, and they were selected as a pro-elderly innovative product by the Seongnam Senior Innovation Center.
BORY Sense is an AI accessibility platform that combines speech recognition (STT) with camera-based lip-reading/AVSR technology to provide real-time captions for face-to-face communication. It is designed to support deaf and hard-of-hearing users, older adults, and people who need better access to spoken information in noisy or public environments. The solution can be used through a web browser and can be connected to AR glasses for hands-free caption display. It is suitable for public service counters, hospitals, welfare facilities, education, meetings, customer service, and daily communication support. The product is currently being developed and commercialized through a national assistive technology R&D project, with KC, radio/EMC, assistive device classification, and related certification/approval review in progress.
-Features a sensor-based obstacle detection system that provides vibration alerts according to the distance from nearby obstacles, enabling safer navigation in low-light or dark environments.
-Designed with a detachable mounting mechanism, allowing the device to be easily attached to or removed from a walking cane for convenient portability.
-Includes a user-configurable settings guide that allows adjustment of vibration intensity and obstacle detection distance, providing a personalized assistive solution.
Mobility Safety and SOS Assistive Device for the Visually Impaired is an open-source smart personal safety alarm designed to ensure the safe mobility of individuals who experience walking difficulties, such as the visually impaired, the elderly, and other physical minorities. It was developed to improve upon the passive response and poor usability for people with disabilities found in conventional safety alarms, allowing users to request help easily and quickly.
The assistive device consists of hardware (the alarm unit) and software (the mobile application). Designed to resemble a keycap accessory on the outside, the device can be discreetly carried as an everyday personal safety item without looking like a traditional self-defense tool. Users can press the keycap switch to respond flexibly to different situations: pressing it briefly triggers a "general assistance request" to notify those nearby when help is needed without urgency, while pressing and holding the switch for 2 seconds or longer during an emergency activates a continuous alarm for 3 minutes and sends the user's current GPS location along with an emergency rescue message to a pre-configured number via the application. Additionally, false alarms can be easily managed by pressing and holding the switch for 5 seconds or more to cancel the alert.
An AI-powered wearable mobility aid designed to support safer and more independent travel for people with visual impairments. Worn comfortably over both shoulders, the device uses cameras and sensors to detect obstacles and surrounding conditions in real time. AI analyzes the environment and provides essential information, such as the location and direction of obstacles, through a connected smartphone app and earphones. Designed to complement the use of a traditional white cane, the device helps users better understand their surroundings and navigate more safely and independently.
