LALASTEP

LalaStep is a senior-care powder stick built around Hemicellan (BioBRB), a fermented black rice bran polysaccharide. Each 2.5 g stick delivers 600 mg of Hemicellan, formulated with turmeric extract powder, L-glutathione and red ginseng concentrate powder. Flavouring additives are kept to a minimum, so the taste stays close to the raw materials.

Hemicellan is a material developed in-house by STR Biotech using its own fermentation process. The company holds 33 registered patents and 7 pending applications related to this material, and has completed a toxicity study and a human study on respiratory health. A human study on muscle strength and muscle function is currently in preparation.

LalaStep has been developed in two versions, one as a health functional food and one as a general food, so buyers can select the format that matches their sales channel and labelling requirements. Formulation and dosage can be adjusted to order.

As a powder stick, it can be stirred into water or taken directly from the stick, which lowers the intake burden compared with tablets. Recommended intake is one stick twice daily. Single-serve packaging keeps portioning straightforward in care facilities and home care settings, and the product is stable at ambient temperature.
