Company Overview
The everyday difficulties experienced by people with disabilities and older adults vary from person to person, and mass-produced goods alone rarely address them. GIST therefore collaborates with Mandeulmaru, the makerspace operated by Chonnam National University, gathering user needs firsthand and developing customized assistive devices with the support of its 3D-printing prototyping facilities and small-batch, high-mix production infrastructure. Working together with local welfare organizations and the users themselves, we verify usability in real-world settings and build technologies that the local community genuinely needs.
At this exhibition, we present four devices: a tremor-compensating spoon, a Bluetooth light switch, a driving handle grip, and a joystick cover for powered wheelchairs. All are designed for immediate use without modifying existing products, offering low-cost construction and adjustable structures tailored to each user.
