The Institute for Future Welfare Convergence at Kangnam University is a core university-affiliated research center and a leading institution in welfare-based convergence research, dedicated to promoting the harmonious coexistence and mutual prosperity of humanity and the environment. Under the vision of serving as a global research hub and industry-academia cooperation platform for Welfare Technology (Wel-Tech) that benefits society, the institute acts as an organic catalyst connecting enterprises, universities, public agencies, and NPOs. Through this multi-sectoral network among users, developers, and suppliers, we create novel value in welfare technology and foster a sustainable, collaborative ecosystem.Specifically, through strategic MoUs with various AI corporations, the institute introduces and manages cutting-edge devices tailored to the practical needs of local community welfare facilities including the Kangnam Community Welfare Center, the Suji/Giheung Senior Welfare Centers in Yongin, the Hwaseong Dementia Care Center, and Kangnam School. Furthermore, we are building a robust Industry-Government-Academia cooperative model based on multifaceted corporate partnerships, which encompass usability and effectiveness evaluations, industry-oriented educational programs, and technical consultations. By actively facilitating academic exchanges through international and domestic research presentations, seminars, and forums, the institute nurtures specialized talents in the field of welfare technology while continuously producing and disseminating state-of-the-art research data to expand its global academic footprint.
